Glen Wilson is an ATC at Kruger Mpumalanga Airport near Nelspruit. He’s also a dedicated aviation nut with interests in computer programming, web design, music, Nature conservation, reading, and photography.
Website history
This project started out when Russell van Blomestein asked me to do a pamphlet about our chapter’s Junior Project. He really liked what I had done asked what I knew about building websites…
eaa.org.za was uploaded for the first time on Friday 11 October 2002. It took less than 24 hours for our first visitor to find the website.
Over the following months more and more content was added. This eventually lead us to the next step where we are now.
Website upgrade – where we are now
I received a phone call from Russell asking if he could maybe come over to my place so that he could learn how to update the pages so that some of my work load could be lessened. This wasn’t going to work out because of the fact that I was hand coding the pages and uploading the changes with an FTP program.
Research lead me to finally choosing a content publishing system to run the site. This would allow people to make updates directly to the site without having to send me attachments by e-mail.
