Invitation

The EAA in conjunction with the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, is holding it's annual Airweek at Wonderboom Airport from the 29th April to the 1st of May 2004.

The event will run for a full 3 days, and the draft programme includes during the course of the show: technical forums, hands on workshops relating to aviation construction, presentations from CAA, Aviation Medicine, and diverse aviation experts such as the Royal Aeronautical society. Aviation movies will be screening on a full time basis, and demonstration flying will continue for the full 3 days. The Thursday and Friday will also feature the Young Eagles events, and the Saturday will feature a full airshow. Participants in the event include the SAAF Museum, Vintage Aircraft Section, Parachutists, Scale Aircraft, Virtual Aviation, and the like.

Special events currently scheduled are:

  • Special guest appearance of the Womens World Aerobatic Champion for the full 3 days, including full aerobatic performances
  • The first public release of the new M101T turbine aircraft in Africa, as well as demonstration flights, and the presence of representatives from the Russian manufacturers for interested parties.
  • Worldwide release of new piston aircraft engine developed in Durban
  • First release of locally designed SB2, 2 place touring aircraft designed especially for African conditions.

We would therefore invite you to reserve a stand at the event in order to display your company to best advantage in what promises to be the largest annual aviation gathering in South Africa, with over 50,000 people anticipated to attend over the 3 days.

There are 4 initial options available:

  • 3m x 3m stand in open air, between the hangars and flight line.
  • 6m x 6m stand in open air between the hangars and flight line.
  • 4m x 4m stand in enclosed Hall, with shell scheme. . The Hall will be secured at night with full time security. Additional items such as display cases etc can be requested.
  • 12m x 12m stand for persons wishing to display/sell aircraft, with access to the flight line for display flights.

Should you have special requests, such as the need to conduct engine runs, operate machinery, or display aircraft during the Airshow, these requests can be accommodated. There is limited parking inside the Airshow, and this has been reserved for exhibitors. Parking is on a first come-first served basis, however availability of these parkings cannot be confirmed until final payment for stands has been received. Please note that apart from pre-booked parkings, no vehicles will be allowed to park in the grounds during the Thursday and Friday, only deliveries will be catered for, and no vehicles other than authorized vehicles will be given entry on Saturday.

VIP tents catering for up to 100 persons, with full catering facilities are also available on request.
