Poster Competition for the 2005 ICATA AirShow
The Experimental Aircraft Association of SA (EAA) in conjunction with the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, is holding a four day Airshow at Wonderboom Airport from the 29th April to 1 May 2005. In order to advertise this event, the EAA require a poster which is capable of being displayed on the street light pole and which will provide the necessary information to the general public. The best submission will be used by the EAA as the advertising poster for the event.
Prizes
- 1st Prize: R 1,000 for the student who is judged to have the winning entry, and R 1,000 for the school to which the student is registered. The poster will be printed and utilized for advertising purposes, and the student will receive a framed copy, signed by the President of the EAA.
- 2nd Prize : R 500 for the 2nd student and R 500 for the school to which the student is registered
The winning students will also be treated to a flight in a show aeroplane during the Airshow, as well as free entry for 5 friends/family. Note that it is the responsibility of the winners to ensure they are able to be present at the event for the purposes of the flight, and to ensure that their parent or legal guardian signs the necessary indemnity form.
Who may Enter
- Any student aged 16 and above, currently enrolled at a secondary school may enter the competition.
Dates
Closing date for completed entries to be submitted to the EAA: close of business 18th March 2005. Sufficient time must be allowed for postal delivery.

Judges
The judging panel will consist of representatives from the Aviation Press, City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, and the EAA, and the winners will be selected on the basis of originality, creativity, practicality, and technical understanding.

Design Considerations
- The posters will be of a size approximately 45cm x 1m, and the text and graphics must be legible to a vehicle driving past at 60km/h
- Be aware of the colours used, as natural colours, eg browns tend to merge into the background when used in the Highveld in winter, and therefore are not as noticeable.
