Book now for this “cracker” of a show to be hosted by the doyen of display flying, arguably one of the most famous aviators in Africa, recently retired Senior Training Captain (SAA) Scully Levin.
Captain Graham Smith (SAA, Retired). Starting in 1954 on Tiger Moths, this extraordinary man flew in the RAF and RCAF (Royal Canadian) in many interesting aircraft types including T33 Silver Stars, Meteor Mk7’s and 8’s and Canberra’s. When he returned to South Africa in 1968 he founded the first Cessna Flight Training Centre in SA (at Rand) as well as Comair Charters.
It was at this time that he and Scully started sharing the same skies. In 1970 he joined SAA for an illustrious career which included positions as Chief Training Captain on certain types and later, in 1994, the setting up of SA Express, serving thereafter as Director of Flight Ops and Founding Chief Pilot. He did his last solo on the 30th September 2008 in his Chipmunk ZS-DHC at Stellenbosch, thus closing his log book with some 24000 hours over 54 very happy years of accident free flying.
Captain Karl Jensen (SAA – Retired) one of the most well-known aviation characters in South Africa.
