Once again we have two exciting and experienced speakers for our Talk Show (next week!) on the 12th June 2008 and seating list is filling up even as we “speak?.
Bob Masson was SAAF trained in 1961 and served at 40 Squadron, Rand Airport. He had an illustrious career in the Air Force and flew extensively at the Test Flight and Developments Centre at Waterkloof until he joined Atlas Aviation where he worked on Cheetah, Mirage III development and the Advanced Composite Aircraft (ACE) designed by the CSIR. This aircraft crashed with Bob at the controls ending his flying career prematurely on medical grounds. The crash itself is an amazing story of airmanship and raw flying skill. This aircraft will be the subject of much of Bob’s contribution as well as the saga of Lt. Bomba who defected from Mozambique in a Mig 17 to Hoedspruit.
General Denis Earp. He is the popular former Chief of the South African Air Force. A Korean War veteran who was shot down and spent time as a North Korean POW. General Earp will no doubt be one of the most famous guests that we will have had the honour to interview at our EAA Flying Legends Talk Show.
The inimitable Karl Jensen will be hosting the show.
