2008 EAA convention

General Info

It is time to start polishing those birds for the EAA Fly – Inn (Convention AGM) hosted by Chapter 870 Kroonstad from 27 – 29 June 2007. We would like to make this an enjoyable relaxed weekend for all flying enthusiasts.

The following is a preliminary program – more details will follow:

Saturday 28 June 2008
- Aircraft arrivals
- Fun Flying
- AGM
- Evening Entertainment and Dinner
Sunday 29 June 2008
- Breakfast
- Departure day

We have managed to secure Dix Vorster as an entertainer on Saturday night. For those who do not know Dix just ask the guys that were on the last few Oshkosh trips. Even the Americans are crazy about him.

We will be having a navigational exercise with a twist on Saturday with a brand new Icom A14 S handheld to give away.

A Shuttle service into town will be available and those that want to camp can do that for free. Basic facilities are available with electric light (eiskom permitting) in the de Lux shower….There are ample guest houses in Kroonstad, contact Isabel Snyman (Local tourism) 056 2123611 or visit www.kroonstad.co.za.

As this is only 100NM from the big smoke with an easy open road it is the opportunity to bring those birds with limited range on both aircraft and pilots. How about a swarm of microlights?
